What do you wear that makes you feel powerful? How about the woman next to you at the bank? In line with you at the store? Think about your mother. What would she put on to reveal her power source to the world? These are the questions that inspired Two Girls Working, Tiffany Ludwig and Renee Piechocki, to create Trappings, an interview-based artwork that led them on a journey across the United States. In six years, they traveled to each region of the country to meet with a diverse group of more than 500 women and girls.
The artists will discuss their project Trappings and share stories and videos of some of the sixty-one women featured in the book. They will sign copies of their book Trappings: Stories of Women, Power and Clothing immediately following their presentation. Several free copies of the book will be raffled at the end of the presentation.
