Structure:

Chair:

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all operations of the entire transitions committee; working directly with the Finance chairs
  • Meeting with committee coordination chairs and advisor to ensure that the mission statement is met in the planning and facilitating of each separate transitions week

Committee Coordination Chairs (2)

Responsibilities Include:

  • One chair will oversee all operations of logistics & external relations
  • The second chair will oversee all operations of marketing & internal relations

Internal Relations Chairs (2)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Taking minutes at meetings and sending out detailed updates to the Transitions Committee; serving as the information link between all chairs
  • Developing a systematic method of keeping order of all materials and supplies in our inventory and in organization of all documents and internal paperwork

External Relations Chairs (2)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining direct communication with faculty & staff event coordinators, speakers & presenters
  • Initiating, planning for and facilitating interaction with resource organizations & companies within and outside of the University

Logistics Chairs (2)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serving as liaisons to the Rutgers University Student Centers: working directly with the reservations staff to reserve event space, discuss set-up details, confirm reservations and carry out proper event protocol
  • Working alongside the External Communications Chairs to ensure that all room requirements from the faculty/staff member, or speaker/presenter are met

Finance Chairs (2)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing all finances pertaining to each individual event; calculating the cost differences between the proposed budget and the actual budget
  • Keeping an organized binder with check request vouchers and respective bill documentation of all expenses; serving as liaisons to the Student Accounting Business Office

Marketing Chairs (2)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing the Rutgers community with information about the 4 Transitions weeks through a variety of marketing methods: Targum Ads, Flyers, Posters Brochures, RUTV, Rutgers Events Website, Office of Student Involvement Listserv, promotional events, giveaways etc.
  • Serving as liaisons to the department Marketing Department: overlooking the Transitions website, working alongside the graphic designers to deliver the committee’s artistic vision for our flyers, posters & targum ad’s
